Our Games - Our Community!

An event like the community games just doesn’t happen on its own.  It is the culmination of the dedication and hard work of many people.  The ‘games team’ have been working tirelessly over the past 12 months to bring Heathcote a truly all inclusive, all ages and abilities community event.

This year’s event is spread over 10 days and filled with loads of events, activities and prizes galore, thanks to our local Lions Club.

There are so many people, groups and organisations we would like to thank for their generosity and support particularly our sponsors;

Our GOLD partner Mandalay Resources have not only contributed $$$, but have also provided resources and manpower.  They are responsible for the amazing 3m high Poppet Head start and finish posts for the Fun Run and Marathon (to be held in May), a real community asset.  Connallys Real Estate for hosting the inaugural Heathcote Fun Run ,Sarah for her outstanding role in bringing it together and Athletics Bendigo for their expertise and support for both these events.

Champions IGA have provided funds for this year’s Fazzi Central and have also enthusiastically jumped on board with their weekly Heathcote Games Day leading up to the event, and distribution of over 3,000 flyers throughout Heathcote, Long Gully and Kangaroo Flat.

McIvor Times have provided us with an amazing amount of coverage.

The City of Greater Bendigo, have really got behind us providing support and direction in many areas together with $$$ to support several activities.

Bendigo Health, St. Anthonys Family Health Services , Bendigo Carer Support Services and  Bendigo Community Health Services have supported the health aspect of the games. La Trobe University and the Bendigo Volunteer Resource Centre, VIC Roads and our local Police for their advice and expertise.

Jayco have sponsored our Inaugural and much anticipated Rio Street Party and Todd Property have contributed to the wonderful Camp Street Zone including Wheels Galore, and the Camp St Races, and we thank them for their wonderful support.

Our entertainment team, who are providing some outstanding entertainment throughout the event, including the newly formed Fazz-stars responsible for the Heathcote games song, and of course our local and district primary schools and Post Offices for their participation.

Mulqueens printing services have been second to none and Sign Obsession are responsible for most of the wonderful signs you will see all over the district. AASB for their accounting and audit services thanks a squllion. Anthony Webster of Imagine Pictures for his professional imagery, tv ads and so much more.  WIN TV for their Free Air time and coverage.

Our delivery partners, Heathcote Health, Heathcote Community House, Scope, Bendigo Gold, Mitchell Shire, Vic Roads Bendigo, SEDA, AFL Vic, Netball VIC, Rock Up Netball, Bendigo Ultimate Frisbee, Belgravia Leisure, Capture Your Essence, Aligning Health, ShooFly Studios, YMCA, Bendigo Athletics, Bendigo Orienteering, Friends of the Bendigo Kilmore Rail Trail, Axedale Our Town Our Future Inc, Toolleen Hotel, along with our local business and community groups are all bringing some great activities to the games.
